We are ready to enter the castle and begin our tour. The Lewis', Willfords', Thompsons and Sister Knudsen. Before we came to the castle we went to the Police Station with Sister Knudsen for her to register. We got there at 7:10 and already had 25 people ahead of us. When they opened we were #5 in our line and that went pretty well and they accepted all her paperwork but then she had to wait for an interview. At 10:30 we were finished. We waited all that time for them to ask if her insurance was being paid. It's quite an ordeal to register and deregister.

We brought up a watermelon and the missionaries had a great time having watermelon eating contests. Who could eat it the fastest, who could take the biggest bite. They have such a wonderful time together. A great set of missionaries.
We brought two vans back home with us from Varazdin and left our car with the Willfords for the week. The Thompsons and I went home and on to Karlovac to pick up Julie. The Manleys were bringing her from Rijeka. We got home about 9:30 and Paul had just pulled in from dropping all the missionaries off and picking up Marko from Zadar. Marko spent the night with us. We got up at 5 and left to pick everyone up. Around 8:30 we had gathered everyone and were on our way.
I started out driving one van and Paul the other.
Our first stop was in Vienna for about 1 1/2 hrs. The kids took off on foot to see the center of town and we watched out for the vans so they wouldn't get towed away from our parking spot. I took a little walk to see if I could find some Austrian pastry. I found this Mozart Square.
We arrived in Zec, Czech Republic about 5 pm after an exciting trip of trying to keep two vans together, getting separated and taking different routes, following Nelly (GPS) and running into construction etc, etc.
We got everyone registered and settled in and then drove about 30 minutes to Chrudic where we were staying in a hotel there. It was nice and quiet and a lovely little town.
We met some of our Area Leaders from Germany. Here I am with Sister Gutherie and Sister Hanson who are over OutReach and are in Germany. They are coming in August to train us and our people.

We did a service project one day at a castle ruins. They worked hard. Some groups moved rock, our group gathered cut grass and branches and moved them up a steep hill and others painted and plastered walls.
We were fortunate, when we arrived there was a group of people dressed as knights and did a exhibition of fighting etc.
It was a great conference. We did a workshop on Family History which we got from Pres. Jones in Palmyra. They kept the YSA's very busy with workshops, water games, games and every
evening there was a fireside.
The first night was Elder & Sister Grassli from Switzerland. The 2nd night Pres. & Sister Oaks, Area President and the third night Pres. & Sister Slovacek, mission president of Czech Republic. All were excellent. The first night they did country presentations. At least nine countries were represented. The 2nd night they had country dances and talent show and the third night they had really fun dancing. We got up to come home Saturday morning at 6 am and headed out. One van went straight home and the other went on to Prague and then home.
Tihana and Sherma. Tihana will be baptized on August 15. She is 26 and has learned to make lace from her Grandmother. It is really famous lace and she is really good at it. Sherma Willford was visiting her parents who are serving a mission in Varzadin where Tihana lives. Sherma is from Rexburg, Idaho and teaches 2nd grade. It was so fun to be with them.

The first van pulled into Varazdin about 4 pm and we stopped for pizza. The 2nd van did not pull into Zagreb until 1:30 am and then Elder Willford was kind enough to drive it back to Varazdin and turn it in for us. All in all a great conference.
