A typical Monday. Got up around 6:30 or 7:00. Talked to the kids and a few friends on the phone. All seems to be well. Went grocery shopping. We started out together and then split off. Paul went to the bank and I went to the grocery store and then we met up again and he helped carry the groceries home. That evening we had FHE at the Hathaways. We had a delicious spaghetti dinner with rolls, salad and brownies and ice cream to top it off. They gave a very good lesson on courage and told several stories of people who had shown great courage. One was the story of Alcapone's lawyer who ended up giving his life to show his son that it was more important to have integrity than anything else and then the follow up story of the son who grew up to be a pilot and did some pretty amazing things to help save others.
This week we had some of the Saints from Guanzhou China. They were two couples with children who Elder & Sister Chen had taught the temple preparation classes to. They rode a bus for 32 hours to get here in HK. They brought three children with them. It was much cheaper to come on the train than to fly. The children could come free on the train. One of the two couples (the Suns) had been endowed two yeas ago so this baby was born In the Covenant but they have a 10 year old daughter who had not been sealed to them. The other couple (Liu) have a four year old.
We also had a young couple from India who were with us all week and two couples from Mongolia. We were able to help in initiatory with these sisters.Sister Tam had her own family names and was so grateful to do the work for her grandmothers and her husband's grandmothers.
Wednesday I got to work with a young returned missionary, Sister Chan. She served in Thailand and will be here until August when she will return to BYU Hawaii to graduate in December. Thursday the area missionaries were in the temple for their monthly session. We now have a new Area Presidency in Asia. Pres. Gong, Pres. Wilson, and Pres. Funk.
Sister Justus wrote us about the new temple endowment film being shown in the Northern Hemisphere. We will not get it here until after the translation.

I was able to help with the own endowment and then during the week they were on our session. We stayed after our shift to be present at the sealing that evening. We helped with some baptisms then went out to the Distribution Center to get some books for them and then came back. Sister Wan had the children in the youth center and so I was able to help her get them dressed. The baby would have nothing to do with it and started crying. We finally got him distracted. It was a beautiful sealing.

They were able to trade off watching the children. On the second day, after coming to the temple and doing an endowment and initiatory they took the children to Disneyland.

On Thursday our Branch, Peninsula 3, brought their youth to the temple to do baptisms. I understand it was Ika's first time.

Saturday just before finishing our shift we were able to attend the wedding/sealing of Mantai Chow and Ming Yan. We had not met them before but he was the missionary companion of my niece, McKenzie's husband, McKenzy Walker in Washington DC South mission. They, of course, could not attend so asked us to. They will be returning to BYU Idaho this month.

On our way home we walked through Festival Walk to the Apple Store, Always have a question for them and saw this display. They were handing out cotton candy.
Sunday was Fast Sunday so we went to Church with the Chans and visited the Tai Wai Ward with Bishop Mak. This Ward has many temple workers and patrons in it. We knew many of the people.

We left this ward and took the train back to Kwai Fong in plenty of time for Paul to make his meeting and I was able to help with the program. It was Fast Sunday and FHE and a pot luck dinner afterwards. Sister Collins, Branch President's wife, is now back with us on a permanent basis. We are so happy to have her.

Some reminders we learned from Elder & Sister Hathaway's FHE.
1. Pray that we will all keep the covenants we have made with Heavenly Father and be faithful to our families.
2. Pray for the missionaries, read the scriptures and have the Spirit with us.
3. Value life--reverence life
